Welcome to Fort Early Years Web Site
We strive to ensure that all children and families feel welcome, included and valued at our Centre.
As a whole team we ensure that all children have happy and fun learning experiences which support their best start in life.
We work closely with parents and carers, recognizing their crucial role as the most important educator of their child.
Fort Early Years Centre is a City of Edinburgh Council establishment and is part of the Children and Families Department. The centre offers a range of services, including group care for children aged up to aged 5 years. The centre also offers a range of groups and community initiatives for families with young children.
Each year Fort Early Years Centre develops a SQIP ( Standard Quality Improvement Plan) which is progressed throughout the term with specific themes and priorities.
2018/2019 our priorities are:
Implementation of Early Learning and Childcare 1140 hours Expansion Pilot Programme.
Reduce the attainment gap and ensure equality for all learners.
Promote Emotional Health and Well-being for service users.
The progress and evidence is collated in a Floor book situated in the main entrance area. We welcome comments from service users.
A copy of the SQIP is also available in the parent/carer community room and in the main entrance hall.
